STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Worked example of COD reserves, fees and settlement

This is an illustrative example, not a fixed quote: courier credit 1000, COD 200 and shipping 200 EGP.

Step 1 — At acceptance

Assume Ojsto collection. The 200 COD reserve leaves courier available credit 800 and held COD 200.

Step 2 — At delivery

A 10% commission on 200 shipping is 20. Courier available credit becomes 780 while COD remains in its hold workflow until settlement.

Step 3 — After 24 hours without a complaint

Assuming a 5 EGP seller fee and 5% COD protection fee, seller credit is 200 - 5 - 10 = 185 EGP. The courier’s COD reserve is consumed and becomes zero.

Before you confirm

Ojsto fees total 35 in this example: 20 shipping commission + 5 seller fee + 10 protection.

These assumptions explain the calculation. Actual order pricing and fees are the reference. Consuming a reserve is not a second available-balance debit.

Common question

Why is the courier COD reserve not returned after successful delivery? Settlement consumes it for seller proceeds; it is not new courier credit.
